About the Gospel Music Awards – Goma

The Gospel Music Awards – Goma is a major musical event organised by Global Meetings Company (Glomeec). It is a competition and festival bringing together the best Gospel talent from the city of Goma and surrounding areas, with a clear objective: to spotlight local Christian artists, promote evangelisation through music and provide a platform of recognition and support for Gospel musicians.

Why this event?

The cities of DRC are rich in human resources and artistic talent, but many Gospel artists remain in the shadows for lack of visibility and support. Through the Gospel Music Awards, Glomeec aims to:

  1. Discover and celebrate Gospel artists from all local churches.
  2. Provide a great space for expression and evangelisation through music.
  3. Shape a new generation of Gospel leaders capable of positively influencing society.
  4. Support young musicians towards empowerment and a sustainable professional career.
  5. Reward excellence and the commitment of artists through prizes and distinctions.

How does it work?

The Gospel Music Awards – Goma is structured in several stages:

  1. Registration and pre-selection of candidates (solo artists, groups or choirs).
  2. Elimination rounds and semi-finals, allowing the public and jury to discover new talent.
  3. Grand finale in a prestigious venue (such as the Serena Hotel for the 2021 edition), with a varied audience, a qualified jury and special guests.
  4. Awards and distinctions: The overall winner receives a cash prize as well as personalised support (audiovisual production, mentoring, visibility). Other artists receive merit certificates for their engagement and consistency.
